Welcome to the 5th Edition of the
International Off-grid Renewable Energy Conference (IOREC)
Global Platform for exchange of knowledge of the Off-Grid Renewable Energy Sector
The fifth edition of the International Off-grid Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition (IOREC) is taking place virtually, on 7-9 December 2021. Convened by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), IOREC is a leading global platform for sharing experience and best practices on enabling policies, tailored financing, innovation in business models and technology as well as the cross-sectoral and socioeconomic significance of energy access through off-grid renewables.
IOREC 2021 will present a key opportunity to discuss the measures necessary to accelerate off-grid systems deployment, and highlight their role in meeting several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year’s programme will focus particularly on this latter aspect, shining a light on the role of off-grid renewable energy solutions in improving and providing essential services in the agri-food sector, education, and in supporting countries to achieve their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). In particular and as a follow-up to the the first International Conference on Renewable Energy Solutions for Healthcare Facilities held in 2018, IOREC will also host a session on the crucial role of off-grid renewables for healthcare.
In parallel with the Conference, the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), the Industry partner of IOREC, will organise the virtual networking to allow participants to interact with each other and set up bilateral meetings.
